Job Summary

This position is responsible for leading and administering all aspects of the company’s human resources (HR) functions including legal compliance, policies and procedures, staffing, administration, compensation, employee relations, benefits, HR analysis and reporting and payroll. Candidates for this position should be able to provide a broad range of HR support with business objectives, strategic goals and initiatives.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manages the Human Resource processes and procedures of the company, including coordination of all day-to-day administrative activities
  • Reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the company’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters, compensation, and benefits
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment-related laws and regulations to ensure the company’s compliance
  • Maintains company compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters including FMLA, worker’s compensation, ADA, etc.
  • Oversees sourcing, establishment and administration of the company’s employee benefit plans
  • Communicates changes about the company’s personnel and benefits policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed
  • Assists management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the company’s wage and salary program
  • Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization
  • Maintains the personnel filing system
  • Manages and coordinates all new employee interviews, onboarding, orientation, benefits, and reviews
  • Maintains consistency of all job descriptions, updates, and postings as needed
  • Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs
  • Helps coordinates internal company events and office activities
  • Maintains and updates I-9 binders
  • Manages employee PTO accrual and utilization
  • Coordinates annual benefit open enrollment annually
  • Maintains the utmost confidentiality in dealing with employee records and information
  • Provides additional administrative support to managers as needed (i.e. invoicing, travel arrangements, etc.)
  • Other office support duties as needed

 

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Ability to handle personnel issues and be trusted with confidential information
  • Ability to quickly and accurately input data into records, spreadsheets, and software applications

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field is required
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field desired but not required
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional Human Resource experience including compensation, employee relations, compliance, talent recruiting and organizational development
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry preferred but not required
